Padman was about to release earlier at the time of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Padmavat but Akshay Kumar changed the date of the release to 9th February 2018 that is today. The social drama film Padman aware about the taboo of women menstruation and stereotypic thoughts of men and society. After, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha where he has been awaring people for concept of toilets in rural areas, this time he is playing the role of man who out of compassion and care to her wife, started manufacturing cost-efficient sanitary napkins for rural unaware women. The R Balki directorial film is a must watch for Indian society and surely inspiring as well.
Why to watch
It seem interesting to see how R Balki took menstruation and sanitary napkins to a full-fledge film which actually gone very well.
The concept of the very film may be inspired from the true events but surely the presentation adapted from it to dramatize is extraordinary. The film features Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles which really make the film a worth watch. Very special about the film is the scenes which contain talks about sanitary pads, menstruation or anything like that, it turn out to be quite balanced and sensitive. The love story in-between Akshay and Radhika is adorable and quite convincing which connected audience very well. Radhika Apte’s performance and her scenes with Akshay make the film momentary. The narrative of the film is about spreading awareness to the narrow minded people who has made menstruation and such related stuff taboo in the society.
Not a strong reason is there to not watch the film, after such actors in great narrative with a promising director is hard combination to get. But the first half of the film is better than the second half of the film. Towards the climax, film turned slow.
The Final Call
Akshay Kumar is one of the compelling reasons to watch the film; it could be the enough reason also. Not because of his stardom but his conviction-driven acting and characterisation. Radhika Apte played a loving character in the film, very connective and her chemistry with Akshay is splendid to watch.
